We love making products people love. We created SuperNatural as a platform for collaborating with brands and like-minded individuals in the creation of products that resonate both culturally and emotionally with consumers.

The Orchid was created with Kevin Parker (Tame Impala) and a collection of hyper talented music geeks. A chord generating synth that can go from the studio to the sofa (and on to the fields). Designed to feel familiar and futuristic all at the same time.

How do you create a brand new music instrument that feels familiar but also absolutely unique?

For the Hasselblad X1D we forced ourselves to marry beautiful form with the best ergonomics. To achieve this blend of usability and beauty we gave ourselves a “poetic license” where form flows as needed rather than being constricted by pure geometry.

How do you apply Scandinavian design sensibility to a high-tech product?

We created the Polaroid Go from the inside out. Starting with a brand new light path design that gave us a lower profile. The Go is a great example of a product that is cute and effortless outside but almost evil inside.

How do we make the smallest analog instant camera in the world, as cute as a cat?

During Tokyo Design Week in 2008 we curated and designed a design exhibition where visitors were asked to attach felt flowers to the products they liked the most, giving them the power to evolve the exhibition and making the designers very tense.

What if we make a design exhibition where people decide what is good or bad design?

Over a ten year collaboration process, Polaroid went from being a nostalgic brand from the past to becoming an icon of the analog revolution. We focused back on the products -starting with the Polaroid Now- and built a new Brand Identity around them.

How do you bring optimism back to an analog brand fading away on a hyper-digital world?

The idea behind this collaboration was to work around light. Starting with a basic black and white canvas and using light properties to bring the two identities together. The Dunk came with 8 color laces (and Brian Anderson created his own braided version <3)

How do you use light to bring two iconic brands together?

Lovers is a kinetic sculpture made out of porcelain for the Oxford-based company Kando. Two different birds with moveable heads that change expression depending on their orientations. From peaceful joy to subtle indifference.

How do you make a bone china ceramic sculpture interactive?

When we decided to bring the Polaroid 600 back to life, our focus was just on making it better. Adding three more lenses, a sonar ranging system, a metal hinge and an interface for new creative features. Then letting the analog magic do its thing!

How do you reimagine the best-ever-selling instant photography camera?

Vertu was the first brand to develop materials such as Stainless Steel, Titanium, Ceramic or Sapphire for the creation of mobile phones. This knowledge -and some of those engineers- are now used by that company you are thinking about.

What if we allow Material Engineering, Color and Craft to drive a Design Language?

We wondered when music players became so boring. Black objects that sat on the background and driven by your phone. We wanted to make the players as much fun as the music you listen to, and bring the product to the front of the listening experience.

How do we bring music players back to being the center of the music experience?

Even before designing the X1D, we developed a Design Language for Hasselblad to help us bring past and future products together. Merging Scandinavian Sensibility, Iconic Design and Beautiful Performance.

How do we maintain a coherent language across analog, digital and hybrid products?

For the Polaroid I-2, we went back to the source of some of the best lens design in the world; Kojima-san and Akagi-san, creators of some of the most iconic cameras from the 70's. This new lens became the centerpoint and inspiration for the whole product.

How do yo create the highest quality instant camera since the Polaroid SX70?

For over a decade, we worked with Motorola to make mobile phones as unique as their owners. Focusing on the relationship between physical form and emotional connection. Those were fun days!

How do you design an introverted phone? And an extroverted one?
